• In the case of exclusion of a participant who has paid the registration fee, this will be reimbursed by the organisation.

• Participants who do not have sports insurance covering mountain accidents are required to obtain their insurance, which will be valid for the day of the event and will be arranged by the organisation itself, with an extra cost for the participant between €3 and €11 (depending on the event chosen).

IMPORTANT: runners who indicate in the registration that they have sports insurance managed by one of the federations or private companies indicated in the registration form must ensure that it includes the activity of mountain racing in Catalonia, and that the insured capital covers at least the minimum benefits indicated in Order 849/1993, of June 4, indicated below:

• Death by accident: €6,000

The organization reserves the right to increase or reduce the number of places to be filled for security reasons or for other reasons that may affect the smooth progress of the event.

All registrations will be made exclusively online through the official website www.muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com and payment must be made by credit card.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that once registration has been made, the runner checks that he/she has been registered correctly through the registration checker available on the website.

At the same time, the participant must also receive a confirmation email with the details of his/her purchase. To ensure the correct reception of the organization’s emails and to prevent them from being blocked or deleted by the mail server’s antispam, each registered person must add the following addresses to their contact list:

hola@muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com (emails related to registrations and payments, announcements, news, and general information)

ARTICLE 5. WAITING LIST

Once the registrations are sold out, the waiting list will be opened, which is the only way to cover renounces.

Therefore, name changes on the bib number once the registrations are sold out are not allowed, since priority will always be given to the candidates on the list who have been waiting the longest.

• The waiting list will be ordered by registration order.

• If a place becomes vacant, the organization will contact the first person on the waiting list by email or WhatsApp to give them the option to formalize the registration.

• Once the first candidate on the waiting list enters the list of registered participants, the second candidate on the waiting list will become the first on the list and will therefore be the next to be contacted in the event of a vacant place.

• Candidates on the waiting list who HAVE BEEN CONTACTED but who reject the registration option or who do not reply to our email within 24 hours will permanently lose their place.

To ensure the correct and adequate reception of emails from the address hola@muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com (registrations, news, and general information), it is necessary that:

• The person registered on the waiting list ensures that the email address entered in the registration form is correct and does not contain errors in periods, commas, hyphens, capital letters, etc.

• The person registered on the waiting list frequently checks the inbox of the email address provided.

• Add hola@muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com to your contact list to prevent spam from rejecting or blocking emails.

ARTICLE 6. CHANGE OF DISTANCE

A registered runner may change to a shorter distance, free of charge and without the right to a refund of the price difference, by sending an email to hola@muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com, only if there are places available in the distance in which he/she wishes to participate and that the request is made before October 1, 2025.

If you wish to change to a longer distance, you must pay the price difference plus €15 for bank and administration fees.

ARTICLE 7. WITHDRAWALS AND REFUND POLICY

All runners without cancellation insurance may cancel their registration for a justified reason* with the right to a 100% refund (minus €15 for bank and administration fees) until September 30.

*Any medical reason that prevents the participant from attending the race will be considered a justified reason. To cancel, it will be necessary to send an email to hola@muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com requesting the cancellation, attaching a medical certificate signed by a registered doctor confirming the contraindication to participate in the race on the day of the event.

From October 1, no refunds will be made.

During the registration process, cancellation insurance external to the organization can be contracted with additional coverage. For more information, please visit: https://www.refundable.me/extended/es/

IMPORTANT: cancellations will always be replaced by the first person on the waiting list and under no circumstances will name changes be made or race numbers reserved for another edition.

Refunds will be made to the same credit card that was used for the payment.

ARTICLE 8. THE BIB NUMBER

Each bib number will be personal and non-transferable and is only valid for participation in the 2025 edition of the MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA.

Throughout the race, participants must always wear the bib number on the front of their body, in a completely visible manner and above their clothing.

The bib number will have a chip that will allow the runner to be tracked.

ARTICLE 9. COLLECTION OF THE BIB NUMBER

The bibs can be collected at the Prades civic center according to the schedule indicated in the runner’s guide programme.

ARTICLE 10. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO COLLECT THE BIB NUMBER

1. PASSPORT

2. Accident insurance card (private or federation) indicated during registration, except for runners who take out the organisation’s accident insurance during the registration process. If the accident insurance (private or federation) is not presented, the cost of the organization’s insurance must be paid.

IF THE BIB HOLDER CANNOT COLLECT IT PERSONALLY

If the bib holder cannot collect it personally at the locations, dates and times indicated in the event program, he/she may designate a person to do so for him/her, who must present himself/herself at the bib collection point with photocopies of the documentation described above.

ARTICLE 11. THE START

To access the start area, it will be necessary to pass a possible equipment control.

The start area will open 45 minutes before the start time of the race.

Access to the start area will be closed 10 minutes before the start of each race.

ARTICLE 12. LIFE BAG (80K)

The life bag (only in the 80 km race) provided during the collection of bib numbers must be handed in at the Prades civic center and will be transported by the organisation to the Capafonts refreshment point (km 45 approx.) and returned to Prades when the last runner of the race has passed.

The life bag must be completely closed; life bags that cannot be closed or that have objects hanging from them will not be accepted.

ARTICLE 13. INFORMED CONSENT

Registration for the MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA implies the acceptance of the regulations and adequate preparation of the participant for the race.

The runner declares to be well informed of the hardness, the risks of the geography and the extreme weather conditions that can be found in the high mountain environment where the race takes place.

In this way, the participant also declares that he is physically and psychologically prepared to take part in a race with the characteristics of MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA and that he has taken the medical tests appropriate to his age and physical characteristics.

The runners registered in the race understand that they participate voluntarily and under their own responsibility. Therefore, they exonerate the organization of the race from all responsibility and agree not to sue the organizing entity, collaborators, sponsors, and other participants, as well as not to initiate any claim for civil liability towards the mentioned parties.

ARTICLE 14. MANDATORY AND RECOMMENDED TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT

All runners will have to make sure that they have at least the equipment marked as mandatory in the runner’s guide, to pass the equipment controls that may be distributed at different points of each race.

On Thursday 6th November, depending on the latest weather forecast, it will be announced whether any of the items on the list are no longer mandatory or if a new item is added.

IMPORTANT: all races take place in mountain environments where the weather forecasts are less accurate than at lower altitudes, and the weather is also more unstable with sudden changes in the weather that can be extreme, such as extreme heat, temperatures below 0°C, heavy rain, hail, strong wind, dense fog, thunderstorms, etc.

Therefore, it is up to each participant to assess the risk involved in the mountains and decide whether they should bring extra equipment for their own safety. It is especially important that all participants carefully review the list of mandatory equipment in the runner’s guide.

ARTICLE 15. CONTROL POINTS, SUPPLY STATIONS AND ASSISTANCE

• Each participant must follow the entire marked route, without skipping the signs and pass through all the control points at each supply point.

• In addition to the fixed controls stipulated on the official website www.muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com, the organization may do “moving” checkpoints of passage or equipment at any point along the route.

• Each participant is obliged to respond to the requests and questions of any commissioner, medical team, or person responsible, whether at stipulated controls or at any other point along the route.

• Time barriers at supply points. At each supply point there will be a specific closing time, and it is an essential requirement to be able to continue in the race to pass before the established closing time. These times will be published in the runner’s guide.

• FINAL time barrier. The finish line time is the time at which the race ends, so if any participant has not yet reached the finish line they can be disqualified at any point on the route and evacuated from that time.

SUPPLIES AND ASSISTANCE

Each participant may receive external personal assistance EXCLUSIVELY at the following refreshment points depending on the chosen race:

• 80K: Farena, Capafonts and La Febró

• 50K: Capafonts and La Febró

• 25K, 13K, 7K: Assistance NOT ALLOWED

At the rest of the refreshment points, as well as at any point on the route, assistance will be totally prohibited.

• Each participant may only use personal assistance within the ASSISTANCE ZONE, which will be in a radius of between 50 and 100 metres around each refreshment tent. The limits of the ASSISTANCE ZONE will be marked on the route, with a sign indicating the start/end of the ASSISTANCE ZONE, so that it is clear where it begins and where it ends.

• Food and drink must be consumed at the same refreshment point in sufficient quantity to ensure energy reserves to reach the next refreshment point, except for water and isotonic drinks, which can also be loaded into the tanks and containers that the runner has.

• To use the refreshment point it will be essential to wear the bib number.

• Upon arriving in Prades, participants will have an area equipped with hot food, medical service, changing rooms, showers, etc.

• For more detailed information on the composition of the refreshment points, the runner’s guide will offer the precise list of them.

ARTICLE 16. CLOAKROOM IN PRADES

The organization will provide participants with a cloakroom service so that those who wish to can leave anything they need to find at the Prades civic center, such as car keys, towel, soap, sleeping bag, etc.

This material must be in a bag or backpack no larger than 20 L. The cloakroom bag must be delivered to the Prades civic center on the day of departure between 1 hour and 30 minutes before departure.

In this case, the organization will not check the condition of the bag or the material inside it, so it will not respond to claims in the event of breakage of the bag and/or the material inside it, nor in the event of the loss of the objects it contains. For this reason, it is recommended that both the bag and the material inside it are not fragile or valuable and that the bag closure is well secured to avoid loss (for example, with strings or ties).

ARTICLE 17. LOST AND FORGOTTEN ITEMS

Any material found by the organization will be taken to the cloakroom at the Prades civic center. They must be collected at the latest by Sunday, November 9 at 5:00 p.m. at the Prades civic center.

If this is not the case, they will have to be collected during the next 15 days at the place and time indicated on the website. After this period, the bag will no longer be delivered.

ARTICLE 18. SAFETY AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

Throughout the race there will be several internal medical and security teams that will be coordinated by the control center of MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA.

The runner may request help or medical assistance, if necessary, from the medical team.

At some points there may be random or general medical checks.

Refusing to undergo a check or disrespecting the medical team that requests it will result in the immediate invalidation of the bib number.

All runners will be subject to the judgement of the doctor whenever requested, with the assessment of the medical team prevailing over any other, so the medical team may:

• Eliminate from the race (by cancelling the bib number) any runner that they consider unable to continue.

• Order the evacuation of any runner who they consider to be in danger.

• Order the hospitalisation of any runner when necessary.

The race direction will never question the criteria or decisions made by the members of the medical team and will not be responsible for the consequences that failure to comply with its orders may have on the runner who does not comply with them.

ARTICLE 19. EMERGENCIES DURING THE RACE

All runners are obliged to assist any other participant who needs it, limited to their own abilities and knowledge. Failure to do so would entail committing a serious crime for failure to assist, stipulated by law.

The runner who assists another runner will receive a time bonus equal to the time spent assisting the other runner. The time to be bonused will be counted from the time the CECOC (Race Control Center) receives the call until the CECOC authorises him to continue. (In the event of no coverage, the bonus will be applied based on the information we receive from the runner being assisted, the affected runner and the medical services.)

If the runner or a companion cannot reach a refreshment point by themselves due to a medical emergency or any other type, the following instructions must be followed:

• If there is mobile coverage: call the telephone number indicated on the bib (CECOC), describe the situation, and follow the instructions indicated.

• If there is NO mobile coverage: call 112 and indicate:

• That we are participants in the MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA

• Approximate kilometre where we are and the race we are competing in (13K, 25K, 50K or 80K)

• Medical problem or emergency that affect us

• Name and bib number, yours, or that of the injured person (if you are assisting)

It is important to keep in mind that part of the route passes through areas that can only be accessed on foot, which means that it may take 2-3 hours for medical and/or rescue teams to come and find us. For this reason, it will be necessary that:

• IF POSSIBLE, we will travel to a point ALWAYS WITHIN THE MARKED ROUTE where we have telephone coverage, to be in permanent and direct contact with the race direction.

• Keep in mind that once help has been requested, some resources will be mobilised based on the information obtained, and therefore the information we provide will be particularly important.

• We should NEVER leave the marked path, as this would make our location difficult.

• When planning the equipment, it is necessary to keep in mind that we must be prepared for situations of very slow passage or even long waits in adverse weather conditions.

• Any change that occurs between the time of the call and our location must be notified.

ARTICLE 20. WITHDRAWAL AND EVACUATION

Withdrawing of the race outside of a refreshment point is not permitted, except if the runner is injured or hurt. Once at the refreshment point, the runner will communicate his/her desire to withdraw the race to the person in charge of the refreshment point so that he/she can cancel his/her number and identify him/her as withdrawn.

Regarding evacuation, the following must be considered:

• If the retired runner chooses to return using his own means (for example, friends who come to pick him up), he must also report his withdrawn, since otherwise the organization will consider him lost and will activate the rescue alarm.

• The runner must wait for in the refreshment station where he is until it closes to return using the means available to the refreshment station staff.

TIP: When we are at a refreshment station, it is necessary to carefully measure our strength and pace and, above all, how much time we have left to reach the next refreshment station and not continue if we are not convinced that we will be able to make it.

ARTICLE 21. ACCIDENT INSURANCE

In the event that the organization considers the assistance of a helicopter or an external team necessary to carry out a rescue, the costs will be covered by the insurance company that the runner has declared to have during registration, whether it is private insurance or a federation license (FEEC or an equivalent regional license authorized by the FEDME or RFEA) or the one contracted during registration (in this case, the organization will carry out the procedures).

IMPORTANT: Participants who indicate in their registration that they have sports insurance managed by one of the federations or private companies indicated in the registration form must ensure that it includes mountain racing activity in Catalonia and that the insured capital covers at least the minimum benefits indicated in Order 849/1993, of June 4, indicated below:

• Death by accident: €6,000

• Permanent disability: €12,000

• Health care: UNLIMITED (including the costs of transfer by medical helicopter or by land)

If the participant has declared to be in possession of a license that he or she does not actually have, the organization will not be responsible for the expenses derived from his or her accident.

ARTICLE 22. MODIFICATION OF THE ROUTE, TIME OF PASSAGE, NEUTRALIZATION OR CANCELLATION OF THE RACE

In the event of severe weather conditions or force majeure, the organization reserves the right to cancel, neutralize or modify the schedule and/or the route.

Likewise, in anticipation of possible changes in the health situation that may occur on the day of the race, the organization reserves the right to add or modify those services, requirements and/or obligations of the regulations that are necessary, in order to, when the time comes, adapt to the health situation in the best way, for the benefit of the health and safety of runners, volunteers and/or the local population.

During the week prior to the race and based on the weather forecasts at the time, the organization may begin to warn about possible changes that may occur in the route. The final decision will be announced no later than Thursday, November 6.

If this were to happen, the changes would be highlighted in an OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT posted on the website www.muntanyesdepradesepictrail.com.

If the weather forecast on the day of the race is worse than expected and is endangering the runners (electric storm, no visibility due to fog, heavy snow or ice, etc.), the start may be delayed or the race may be stopped/neutralised/diverted, if it is already underway. If after a few hours the conditions do not improve, the race may be permanently cancelled.

ARTICLE 23. CANCELLATION OF THE RACE BEFORE THE SCHEDULED DATE

In the event of cancellation of the race due to force majeure before 1 November, a FULL refund of the registration fee will be made.

ARTICLE 24. PENALTIES

The penalties described in the following table will be applied at the place and time in which the offences are committed. The persons authorised to impose penalties may be the stewards, doctors and those responsible for each refreshment point or control point.

Penalties involving a time penalty must be served at the same point where the infringement occurred and in front of the person responsible for issuing the penalty.

Failure to comply with this penalty would constitute an offence of “disobedience of the orders of the stewards, those responsible for refreshment or the medical team”, punishable by disqualification.

PENALTY TABLE

• Fixing results between participants (only for the first 5 men and women in the general classification with cash prizes). With the reform of the Penal Code in 2010 (LO 5/2010), a new catalogue of crimes called “Corruption between individuals” was incorporated into the Penal Code. Within this category, the precept of corruption in the sports field is regulated. Although the Sports Law authorizes federations to create their own disciplinary codes, the same law includes a catalogue of infractions and sanctions that are binding on all federations. These include sanctions for actions aimed at predetermining the result of a race or competition through price, intimidation, or simple agreements. It must be considered that the competition regulations in Spain are independent of the civil or criminal liabilities that could be incurred for committing the typical acts of sanction. The fact that 2 or more participants in the competition, before the finish, agree on the result is reason for disqualification (example: crossing the finish line together).

• Failure to assist another person: disqualification and prohibition from participating in future editions.

• Withdraw without having notified the organization at the time of withdrawal: disqualification and prohibition from participating in future editions.

• Giving the bib/chip to another person to help us for part of the race or to do the whole race and/or providing false information to the organization: disqualification and prohibition from participating in future editions for the original owner of the bib.

• Unsportsmanlike conduct towards other athletes or towards the organization: disqualification

• Disobedience to the orders of the commissioners, those responsible for supplies, health personnel or refusing to undergo an anti-doping control and/or testing positive: disqualification.

• Lack of mandatory equipment or refusing to undergo an inspection of equipment: disqualification.

• Refusing to undergo a medical check: disqualification.

• Skipping a checkpoint: disqualification.

• Voluntarily throwing waste outside the designated refreshment areas or any type of behaviour that may disrupt the natural environment: disqualification.

• Breaching the regulations of the PEIN (Natural Site of National Interest of the Muntanyes de Prades - link to the runner’s guide): disqualification.

• Going off the marked route by shortening the distance of the route: 1 hour penalty and 1st warning. Disqualification at the 2nd warning.

• Receiving external personal assistance at any point in the race or at unauthorized refreshment points: 1 hour and 1st warning. Disqualification at the 2nd warning.

• Running 100 m or more accompanied by a person without a bib and with clear intentions of helping the runner outside the 100 m radius of a refreshment point: 30 minutes and 1st warning. Disqualification at the 2nd warning.

ARTICLE 25. CLAIMS

Claims only with MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA in progress:

Claims or complaints from runners made while the race is in progress must be submitted in writing by filling out a form that will be provided upon arrival in Prades, after paying a deposit of €50 (in cash), which will be returned in the event of a favourable resolution for the runner.

These claims may be submitted until the end of the race and may affect the provisional classifications and award ceremony.

Each claim will be studied and resolved by the competition jury, which will be made up of:

• The race director

• The sports director

• The president of the organising club

• The person responsible for timing (if necessary)

No appeal may be accepted against the decision of the competition jury. The resolution for these claims will be made in the shortest possible time, not exceeding the maximum period of 5 days.

In the event of a favourable resolution for the runner, the deposit will be returned, and his/her classification will be corrected, if necessary.

NOTE: MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA will only deal with complaints that come directly from the affected runner, and in no case will other types of complaints, comments or claims from NON-participants or participants who are not affected by the actions complained of be answered or dealt with.

ARTICLE 26. ELITE RUNNERS

MUNTANYES DE PRADES EPIC TRAIL COSTA DAURADA is regulated by the principle of equality and meritocracy among all participants. The reward must be given by the achievements and results of the race itself, as reflected in article 27.
